Langtang is the name of a Himalayan range and is a National Park which lies at the northern border of Nepal. Langtang national park was established in 1976 as the first Himalayan National park of Nepal. It is located within an area of 1710 sq km. The protected area exceeds an altitudinal range of 6,450 m (21,160 ft) and is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal. It is also very famous for its flora and fauna, and areas where you can see some of the world’s rarest animals such as the snow leopard, red panda, etc. The trail where you walk goes through the valleys and villages of Langtang. The Langtang trek leads you along the Langtang Khola to the Keynjing Gompa, which is the last village of the valley. There are some day trips around Keynjing Gompa and to visit glaciers, Tserko Ri, Kharka and many more.
