The Lemosho route can be done in as little as six days (five nights) on the mountain. However, it is ideally tackled over eight days (seven nights) for a better altitude acclimatization schedule. The trek begins at Londorossi Gate, located in the western base of mountain, within its lush, fertile rainforest. The route heads across the Shira Plateau, before circling along the southern circuit halfway around the mountain, exposing the climber to great views from all angles. The approach to the summit is made from the east, and the descent follows the Mweka trail. With eight days (seven nights) on the mountain, your chances of reaching the “Roof of Africa” are very high, around 90%. The Lemosho route is approximately 70 km/ 42 miles from gate to gate. It is designed for physically fit people with some hiking experience. The table below depicts a variation of the 8 day Lemosho climb with starting and finishing points, altitude, distance and hiking time. This is considered to be the ideal Lemosho route variation.

This Short Inca Trail hike is one of our most popular treks as it incorporates many of the highlights of the Classic Inca Trail but is completed in a much shorter time frame! This makes it perfect for explorers who want to experience this world-famous trail and the new 7th wonder of Machu Picchu, but who only have a limited amount of time in the area. This year the Peruvian tourism authorities are making 200 extra permits per day available for this Short Inca Trail. So right now, that means that almost all dates in 2021 and 2022 remain available! As well as many of the traditional Inca ruins and magnificent mountain views that make the Inca Trail famous, our route also takes us to the lesser-known ruins at Chachabamba, and past the most magnificent waterfall that this area has to offer. It truly is a short itinerary that packs a real punch.

This is a very unique version of the Classic Salkantay Trek. The first two days follow one of the common Salkantay trails, but on the 3rd day, we depart the Salkantay trails to enjoy a less trodden path that connects with the Classic Inca Trail. You even get the opportunity to walk a portion of the Classic Inca Trail on the 3rd day. The Salkantay Trek is named for Mount Salkantay (6,271 m / 20,574 feet). This Sacred Mountain is higher than any mountain in North America. On the Salkantay trek, you will see gorgeous blue lakes, stunning glaciers, cloud forests,s, and rain forests. The last portion of this particular trek has an ecosystem more typical of the Inca Trail with lush green vegetation and many archeological ruins. This trek is a great blend of the two very popular hikes, with an incomparable variety of flora and fauna. The trek includes two nights of camping and one night in a hotel in Aguas Calientes. It also includes a nice train ride from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes on day 3, dinner on day 3 at a great local restaurant in Aguas Calientes, horses to carry 8 kg of your personal gear, and your permission to access Machu Picchu city.
