The Cape to Addo Safari tour is a unique, safe and affordable way to experience the thrill of game driving in an authentic BIG 5 Nation.
You don’t have much time but still, want to explore the entire Garden Route? Climb aboard this 3-day tour (one way) where we go on a Big 5 Safari, visit an elephant and a monkey sanctuary, do the World’s Highest Bungee, surf in J-Bay and squeeze through the Cango Caves!
Looking to explore the Garden Route in one epic weekend? Then you’ve found your match! This three-day itinerary is filled to the brim with the best highlights the area has to offer. Wander along the Garden Route - a piece of paradise on the southeastern coast of South Africa. Search for members of Africa's Big 5, bungee jump, walk through dense forests and spot African wildlife on a safari, all in one action-packed itinerary.
The road trip begins as you drive along the longest wine route in the world, South Africa’s very own Route 62. Enjoy the rugged scenery and winding roads as you make your way to Oudtshoorn to explore the fascinating underground maze of the Cango Caves.
Adventure awaits over the next two days. Walk with three orphaned elephants as they venture to their water hole. Canoe along the tranquil waters of the Touws River in Wilderness National Park, keeping an eye out for the abundant birdlife. Face your fears as you hurtle off the world’s highest bridge bungee, or visit the lush forests of the Tsitsikamma area. Bundu-bash through the fynbos on a 4x4 safari with a game ranger as you set out to spot members of Africa’s Big Five, and connect with nature on a tranquil bush walk in a private game reserve. There's a lot to explore on this 3-day adventure, so let's get started!
Prepare yourself for a feast for the senses as a harvest table of flavors and diversity awaits. This well-rounded road trip perfectly pairs wildlife and wine, serving both taste connoisseurs and nature enthusiasts alike. Add in a dash of pure adrenaline and you have the perfect platter of South African indulgence. From meeting some of the Big Seven (yes, the Big Five with whales and sharks!) along the Garden Route to wandering the rolling hills of the Cape Winelands and strolling the cliff paths of Hermanus, this trip has something for every explorer. Think daring adventures, animal sightings, wine tastings, and authentically local culinary delights.
Hike in Tsitsikamma National Park, feel your adrenaline pumping with an exhilarating bungee jump, and catch prime game viewing at Addo Elephant National Park, home to the densest population of wild elephants on the planet. Plus, you’ll come nose-to-beak with the planet’s largest birds in the feather capital of the world - Oudtshoorn, listen to the sounds of silence in Cango limestone caves and walk with the biggest land mammals on the planet in the Klein Karoo. And, if the mood takes you, learn to surf on some of the world's top-rated waves or try a spot of sandboarding in Jeffreys Bay.
Expect surprises on the palate from the ubiquitous seafood on the coastal belt and Klein Karoo specialties like lamb and ostrich finished off with some of South Africa’s best Port-style wines along Route 62, the longest wine route in the world. Explore the winding roads from the Stellenbosch Winelands to Hermanus - considered to be the best land-based whale watching spot in the world - to visit the southernmost point of Africa, Cape Agulhas. Get a chance to see some of the Marine Big Five – whales, dolphins, seals, penguins, and sharks – on a sea kayaking expedition, or wander your way along fynbos line cliff paths. You'll also make new flipper friends at the Stony Point Penguin Reserve!
And the cherry on top - a delight for the eyes as you drive along Clarence Drive, with dramatic twists along steep mountainsides, the perfect vantage point to view the vast False Bay. Let's uncork our best and let the adventure flow. Cheers!
A firm favorite among visitors and locals alike, South Africa’s famed Garden Route offers a generous dose of the great outdoors, where nature and adventure combine in one perfect playground. Country roads perfectly frame both the rolling farmlands and endless flora and fauna. The landscape dramatically changes – from wine farms to untamed wilderness, Tsitsikamma forest to mountain ranges – as the kilometers pass.
You'll cover some ground on this adventure. There’s optional bungy jumping and ziplining for the thrill-seekers and canoeing in Wilderness National Park or a quick swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean for the nature-lovers. Add in hiking in Tsitsikamma National Park, the sounds of silence in Cango limestone caves and prime game viewing at Addo Elephant National Park, home to the densest population of wild elephants on the planet. Plus, you’ll come nose-to-beak with the planet’s largest birds in the feather capital of the world - Oudtshoorn, and walk with the biggest land mammals on the planet in the Klein Karoo. And, if the mood takes you, you can learn to surf on some of the world's top-rated waves or put your goofy foot forward with a spot of sandboarding in Jeffreys Bay.
Expect surprises on the palate from the ubiquitous seafood on the coastal belt and Klein Karoo specialties like lamb and ostrich that are best finished off with some of South Africa’s best Cape Ruby ports or Port-style wines at a Calitzdorp winery. It's only fitting that you'll then cruise down the picturesque Route 62 – think Route 66 with more wine and bigger hospitality – for a spot of wine tasting before heading back to Cape Town’s European cosmopolitan vibe.
