Shore Excursion Benefits

This tour offers the following benefits to cruise passengers:
Cruise Friendly Refund Policy
Shore Excursions with this benefit are eligible for a full refund if any of the following occur:
- Your cruise ship arrives in port late, and you miss your Shore Excursion as a result.
- Your cruise ship changes its scheduled date of arrival, and it is not possible to reschedule the Shore Excursion.
- Your cruise ship skips the port of call where the Shore Excursion takes place.
- Your cruise is canceled by the cruise line.
- You cancel your Shore Excursion prior to the Cancellation Deadline listed on your Booking Voucher.
To be eligible for a refund, you must submit your claim in writing to support@projectexpedition.com no later than 14 days after the scheduled date of the Shore Excursion and include your Project Expedition booking reference. Project Expedition will verify the cruise ship’s actual itinerary before processing any refund. Approved refunds will be issued in accordance with Section 10 (Refunds).

Back to Ship Guarantee
Project Expedition’s Back to Ship Guarantee provides that, if you are unable to rejoin your cruise ship before it departs the port of call, Project Expedition will assist you in reaching the next port of call and will reimburse certain eligible expenses, subject to the requirements below. This guarantee applies only when all of the following conditions are met:
- The Shore Excursion you booked expressly offers the Back to Ship Guarantee, as indicated on the Product page and your Booking Voucher.
- Your Shore Excursion is scheduled to end no less than 2 hours prior to the scheduled “all aboard” or departure time of your cruise ship (whichever is earlier). It is your responsibility to confirm your ship’s departure and all-aboard times prior to booking, and to re-confirm the ship’s itinerary on the day of the Shore Excursion.
- You did not change or deviate from the original itinerary of the Shore Excursion that you booked on Project Expedition.
- The delay in returning to the ship was not caused by any fault, action, or inaction on your part.
- You notify Project Expedition (or the Supplier) of the delay as soon as reasonably possible, so that we may assist you.
In the event that you do not make it to your cruise ship before it departs and all conditions in Section are met, Project Expedition will provide the following two benefits:

(a) First, Project Expedition will cover the reasonable costs of travel and meals required to transport you to the next port of call. Eligible expenses may include ground or air transportation, accommodation, and meals incurred in the course of reaching the next port. Original itemized receipts are required for reimbursement of these expenses, and each expense must be directly related to your transit to the next port of call. Project Expedition reserves the right to determine, in its sole and reasonable discretion, whether a claimed expense is reasonable and eligible for reimbursement. Without limiting that discretion, expenses are not considered reasonable to the extent they exceed what is reasonably necessary to reach the next port of call in a timely manner, and the following are not eligible for reimbursement: business class, first class, or premium-cabin airfare, or private or chartered air or ground transportation, in each case where a reasonable economy or standard option was available; accommodation, dining, or incidental costs beyond what is reasonably necessary; and any expense not required to rejoin the ship. Where circumstances reasonably permit, you should contact Project Expedition before incurring significant air or accommodation expenses so that we may assist in arranging reasonable options.

(b) Second, in addition to the reimbursement described above, Project Expedition will make a courtesy payment for the inconvenience of up to a total of USD $ per Booking. The courtesy payment is calculated at USD $ per person on the Booking, provided that the total courtesy payment shall not exceed USD $ per Booking; where the number of persons on the Booking would cause this maximum to be exceeded, the USD $ will be divided equally among all persons on the Booking. The courtesy payment is provided separately and is not conditioned on the amount of your travel or meal costs, and expenses that are unrelated to rejoining the ship or that are not supported by valid receipts remain ineligible for reimbursement under the first benefit.
Project Expedition is here to support you in the event of a missed departure. Where a Booking was made by or through a travel advisor, we honor and respect the advisor-client relationship. Accordingly, Project Expedition will either coordinate the necessary travel arrangements to the next port of call directly, or, where the travel advisor prefers to handle these arrangements, defer to the advisor to do so. In all cases, Project Expedition remains available to assist and will work with you and your travel advisor to facilitate a prompt resolution.
To submit a claim under the Back to Ship Guarantee, you must contact Project Expedition in writing at support@projectexpedition.com no later than 14 days after the scheduled date of the Shore Excursion, and include your Project Expedition booking reference and all supporting receipts for the travel and meal expenses being claimed. Project Expedition will verify the cruise ship’s actual itinerary before processing any reimbursement or courtesy payment. The Back to Ship Guarantee is not an insurance policy; it is a limited benefit subject to the conditions and limits stated herein, and we recommend you also maintain comprehensive travel insurance.
