Arequipa - Peru

Arequipa is the second biggest city in Peru and was founded in 1540. The "white city" is known for its beautiful colonial buildings made in a white volcanic rock: sillar. Indeed, the city is surrounded by three 19500 feet volcanoes which were worshiped by the Incas since the melted snow from their tops flows into the Amazon thousands of miles away. see more see less
