The daily program on our activity holiday in Croatia is a combination of kayaking, walking, swimming, sightseeing and exploring hidden canyons. Through hidden canyons of Velika and Mala Paklenica, two mountain streams have been flowing for thousands of years. They flow towards the sea and form a fertile plain at its base. Together with a peaceful shore, the plain creates the site of Starigrad town. Gently laid out along twenty kilometers of seacoast at the foot of the magnificent Velebit Mountain. Therefore the Paklenica Riviera joins the mountain and the sea. The Mediterranean with an upland climate, tradition with modernity.
Starigrad is located in the far northwestern part of Dalmatia, as a part of the Zadar oriented region. As the center of the Paklenica Riviera, Starigrad is a small but lively tourist town. With somewhat more than one thousand inhabitants. Here the locals exchanged their traditional way of life in the foothills of the Velebit for life alongside the sea some half a century ago. Starigrad is not merely a pleasant seaside resort. It is also a traditional gathering place for hikers and climbers, adventurers and scientists. Therefore all nature lovers who come to enjoy the beauties of Paklenica and the Velebit mountain.
The highlights of this Plitvice Lakes Croatia activity holiday include canoeing/kayaking, rafting, walking and cycling in the area around Plitvice Lakes National Park. While experiencing breath-taking views and stunning scenery. Plitvice Lakes are a World Heritage Site. The national park plays host to 16 lakes, numerous waterfalls fed by both the Black and White Rivers. Seemingly endless forests which make it a must visit destination.
The itinerary will also take you on a cycling journey through pastoral Croatia countryside. Together with rafting down the Una River in Bosnia. We will end the week by kayaking down the beautiful Mreznica Canyon. You can expect to paddle about 20 km a day, but our schedule is very weather dependent. Previous kayaking experience is recommended, but not required. The rivers are friendly. They have pleasant temperatures in summer and they are not dangerous or physically demanding.

Our daily program is a combination of kayaking, swimming and exploring rivers. It is a perfect program for a short outdoor getaway. Breathtaking beauty merged with activities is something worth experiencing. Indulge yourself for the weekend and feel like a little scout again. Spend the night under the stars. Wake up to the sound of the river and birds.
Zrmanja and Krupa are among the most beautiful rivers in Europe: perfectly clear warm water, a spectacular canyon with magnificent waterfalls. They are easy and safe enough for beginner canoeists. Their scenery makes them also very exciting. The trip begins in Kastel Zegarski, only an hour drive from Zadar. After the first hour of paddling down easy rapids, you will – if time and weather permit – visit beautiful Krupa waterfalls and swim under them. Following a night’s rest, you will continue your trip from a small town called Obrovac. Spectacular sights of the cliffs in contrast to the turquoise river color will lead you all the way to the river estuary. You finish up in the Novigrad Sea, so this is a great opportunity to combine river and sea kayaking in one trip!

The town is famous for its turbulent, 6000 years old past. It is one of the oldest Croatian towns. Which has begun writing its history since the time of the Illyrians? It received its name during the Roman rule, Scardona. After the Roman Scardona had been ruined and robbed to the very foundations. Therefore the Croats rebuilt the town. And named it Skradin. Today it is an attractive tourist destination with an authentic stone town core. Its location is in Central Dalmatia. Within a region known for its long beaches and pine woods.
