Experience some of the most beautiful nature in Iceland, glistening glaciers, active volcanoes, powerful waterfalls, gushing geysers, and colorful landscapes but there is so much more to this island in the North. Iceland has an exceptionally rich history and the tales and sagas are endless if you have someone to tell you. Join a guided 8-day tour in a small group that will give you the opportunity to take your Iceland experience to another level.
Inspired by the locals we invite you to leave city life behind and join us on our two-day Landmannalaugar tour. An experience which gives you a totally new dimension of winter traveling where the guests and staff blend together as one team, taking an active part in all of the upcoming adventures.
When Icelanders want adventure they head for Landmannalaugar during wintertime on a journey with unforeseen challenges. When they reach their destination they bathe in the stunning geothermal natural pool and enjoy being alone with nature, surrounded by the stars and the dancing northern lights.
Discover the land of extreme contrast. This is your chance to experience 8 days of exceptional landscapes and geographical phenomena! Prepare to be impressed by the unearthly beauty of Landmannalaugar, Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls hiking trails and beautiful natural surroundings. The tour starts in Landmannalaugar, one of Iceland´s wonders and most geologically active areas with the active volcano Hekla close by. Hike towards the ill-named crater lake, Ljóti Pollur (Ugly Puddle), to Iceland's most colorful volcano called Brennisteinalda or Suðuhámur, liparite mountain where you can have a great view on the entire Landmannalaugar area. Relax in a natural hot pool, where both hot and cold water flow out from beneath Laugahraun Lava, while you enjoy the beautiful landscapes surrounding you.
Finally, embark on the adventure of Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls Trek, a truly great trail which demonstrates the diverse nature Iceland has to offer. Rambling lava fields, obsidian lands, multi-colored mountains, and black sands while viewing glaciers and hot springs along the way. Culminate your trip in Thorsmork as we hike up to the Fimmvörðuháls Pass- between Eyjafjallajökull and the larger Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. On our journey, we reach the new craters named Magni and Móði after the Thunder God's sons, Thor, and formed in the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull volcano in 2010. We end our adventure with a nice barbecue dinner on our last night in Thorsmork.
Landmannalaugar is a place in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve in the highland of Iceland. Known for its colorful and vibrant shades of silica-rich igneous volcanic rock mountains and lava fields that radiate in the sun, this destination is home to the perfect hiking trails. Whether you have hiking experience, or if you simply wish to enjoy Iceland's natural beauty, a hike in the area is sure to leave you feeling as though you are walking through a beautiful painting.
This tour includes a hike along Frostastadavatn Lakeside to the ill-named Ljótipollur (Ugly Puddle), an incredible red crater filled with bright-blue water. Experience the most colorful volcano of Brennisteinsalda covered in steaming vents and sulfur deposits. This trip also offers to chance to climb on Suðuhámur (920 m above sea level), a mountain rich in liparite mineral while going through Vondugil Canyon. Enjoy an amazing view over Landmannalaugar´s geothermal area from a top of Bláhnúkur, circa 60000 years old blue-greenish volcano.
After spending time hiking, our idea of a perfect cure includes a relaxing bath in the steaming area of a natural pool nearby. Our Three Day Trekking Trip to one of the most geothermally active areas of Iceland is the ideal trip for avid hikers and outdoors enthusiasts. Landmannalaugar is the official starting point for the famous Laugavegur Trek- one of the world's top 20 hikes according to National Geographic.
