Guests can choose to share a sled with 5–6 dogs or drive their own sled with a team of 3–4 dogs. When sharing, one person guides the sled while the other enjoys the ride seated comfortably — and you can swap roles along the way, so both experience the thrill of driving. A minimum of two participants is required to start a tour. Solo travelers are warmly welcome and can join an already booked group.

When sharing a sled, one person drives while the other sits comfortably in the sled — and you can swap roles along the way so both experience the thrill of guiding the team. Your journey begins with arrival at the kennel during the day, where you will enjoy dinner and settle in for the first night. After breakfast the following morning, you head out on the trail with your husky team. Two nights are spent in a cozy cabin at a remote wilderness camp equipped with sauna facilities — the perfect way to relax after a rewarding day on the sled. A minimum of two participants is required to start a tour. Solo travelers are warmly welcome and can join an already booked group.

During this extraordinary journey, you become the musher, steering your own team of four sled dogs across snow-covered landscapes. Travel through one of Europe’s last great wilderness areas, where life slows down, and authenticity defines each moment. Spend 5 nights at remote wilderness camps, collect water from a frozen lake, relax in a traditional sauna, and prepare firewood just as it has been done for generations in the north. The trail leads through dense forests, open moorlands, and across frozen lakes and rivers in the region of Jukkasjärvi. Daily distances range between 25 and 50 kilometers, depending on cabin locations and weather conditions. Routes and stages may be adjusted to ensure safety and comfort according to snow and weather conditions. On arrival and departure days, you stay in a 4-bed cabin at the husky kennel. Extremely low temperatures may require shorter stages, while heavy snowfall can make the trails slower and more demanding. Especially early in the season, some lakes and rivers may be impassable, requiring route changes.
This 6-day adventure covers a 120–150 km section starting from Nikkaluokta and returning there — a particularly scenic and much-loved part of the trail. Discovering this magnificent mountain region by dog sled offers an experience unlike any other. The journey takes you across vast alpine plateaus, through pristine wilderness, and past grazing reindeer and traditional Sámi summer settlements rich in history and culture. In the evenings, you may be fortunate enough to witness the northern lights shimmering across the Arctic sky. Breathe in the clear mountain air, embrace the profound silence, and take in the sweeping views. Powered by your eager husky team, you will travel through a landscape that is both rugged and breathtaking. At the arrival and departure day you stay in a 4-bed cabin at the husky kennel.
With your own dog sled team, you glide through this spectacular landscape. Together with the dogs, we cover new distances each day and set up our camps in the middle of nature. We spend the nights in traditional lavvu tents, heated with a stove – simple, authentic, and incredibly atmospheric. In the evenings, we gather around the fire, cook together, and enjoy the special atmosphere of the Arctic night. With a bit of luck, the Northern Lights may even dance across the sky above us. There are good chances to see the Aurora Borealis on clear winter nights. This tour is deliberately puristic. It is designed for adventurers who are ready to leave their comfort zone and experience the fjäll in its most original form.
